100 Years of Route 20
This page was designed to highlight and offer our insight on how we can engage with our Historic Route 20 communities during its centennial in 2026. We welcome your ideas and ways to collaborate and promote the Route even further! The organization is planning several tours to promote the Route beginning in the Fall of 2025 and continuing through 2026. We look forward to visiting and returning to the many great locations along Historic Route 20!
Connecting Communities
The Historic Route 20 corridor is a tourism destination that connects communities across the country on one single road. By creating a collaborative network across Route 20, we can share and showcase the route. Those who seek the nostalgia found on Route 66, can find the historic sites, mom and pop shops, small diners, motels and small-town charm all on Route 20.

Historic Route 20
in Your Community
Identifying Historic Route 20 has been one of our biggest endeavors. By researching old maps, documents and articles we can confidently prepare a comprehensive study for your town, city or county. This includes detailed maps of the historic routes, important dates and histories that can be included in tourism guides, local itineraries and to assist with Historic Trail Designations.
Auto Trails
Designations
Each state has explict ways to obtain such designations and the placement of signage. Find out how we can help.
Tourism & Economic Development
By creating and promoting Heritage Routes, economic impacts increase, tourism dollars flow into smaller towns & tourists will continue on one route instead of returning to an interstate or bypass

Community Programs
We have presented our programs to standing room crowds across the United States for: The National Park Service, Historical Societies & Museums, School Groups, Libraries, Civic Organizations and more!
Route 20's Centennial
NEW—With 2026 being the centennial of the US Highway System, our newest program explores how the US Highway System came into being, why was Route 20 numbered “20” and how 20 survived the all-consuming interstates. Highlighted are major events that occurred on Route 20 past and present along with what connection does Route 20 have with your community. This is a new take on our original, successful program.
Connecting National Parks of Route 20
NEW—There are over 30 National Park sites along US Route 20 corridor between Boston and Newport, Oregon. This is not just a list of all of the parks, but tying the parks together where possible To make the program engaging, we discuss these park and their significance to the history of the country and how they connect to a place and time in American History.
A Journey Through History
THE ORIGINAL— This program starts at the beginning with a Native American path that would become our first postal routes, avenues to victory in the American Revolution and leading the country to the west! We zoom in locally to share how Route 20 was created in your community and zoom out on a virtual road trip across the country!
